Snow Fly Zone Swag

Snow Fly Zone Swag

The infamous Snow Fly Zone added another member to the group, CB Cortez Faulk who was drafted #9 overall out of Mississippi St!

Who is Cortez Faulk? Faulk attended Mississippi St for 4 years and was a top 5 finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award 3 of his 4 seasons, his freshman year he did not rank. Now teammate, Lamichael Hayden beat Faulk the previous season which was also a heisman winning season. Faulk totaled 134 total tackles, 27 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles and 4 TDs during his college addition to being a top athlete in the NCAA, Faulk was a a top student with a 3.8 GPA over his career.

On the field, Faulk was known as a “dog” by his teammates and coaches. Faulk brought the swag and grind every single day which elevated his teammates play in addition to his own. Mississippi St DB Coach said “Cortez brought the energy, grit and fire daily to the program over his 4 years here. Cortez did not fear anyone or anything”. Former teammate SS Jaquarius Landrews said “He literally talked **** to anyone on the practice field and game days”

The 2023 Cornerback class was one of the deepest we have seen. Faulk was ranked in the top 3 with Jordan Cohen (Miami) and Jameson Lindsey (Utah). Lindsey ran the fastest 40 time and scouts coveted Cohen’s combine numbers. Faulk was just different and it stood out.

Faulk was barking at the other DBs during the combine drills and he did not stop. A lot of guys bark with no bite but this kid had a Doberman bite. Faulk just has that “it” factor to him. Faulk performed great at the combine and posted a 4.49 40 times, placed 2nd in the agility drills and was 1st on the bench press with 24 reps.

When the Packers were on the clock at #9, there was only one choice to be made. Cortez Faulk was headed to the Snow Fly Zone.

When Coach Lefleur called Cortez on the phone and let him know he would be a Packer, he said “Thanks coach, you just took the best DB in the draft”.

What does it mean to be apart of the Snow Fly Zone in Green Bay? You have to have the swag, play making abilities, ball skills and have that dog fight mentality. The Snow Fly Zone consists of Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, Lamichael Hayden, Darnell Savage, Josh Jones, Tobias Spears, Rickey Dudley, Tony Brown, Walter Wagner and Kentrell Brice.

This group holds themselves to a higher standard than most and fears no offense in the league. When you walk into film room, you better be ready to focus and get your mind right, and when you hit the field, you better be ready to fight for 60 minutes.

Cortez’s locker is positioned right next to Alexander’s which is not normal for a vet to be next to a rookie. Alexander has taken the mentor role towards Faulk and feels like he sees himself in the mirror when looking at Cortez.

While Jordan Cohen gets all the hype around the league, Cortez has one thing to say “Over the next five seasons, I will be the best Cornerback that was drafted and I will have the most championships”.
