Treyvon Reddick is headed from the Bayou to Lambeau!
Reddick was selected #6 overall, out of LSU, in the 2023 DML Draft by the Green Bay Packers! The Packers moved up multiple times in hopes of drafting a WR and Defensive Player.
There were two WRs that stood out from all of the others during the combine process, Jabari Waller (Boston College) and Treyvon Reddick (LSU). Waller, 22 years old, checked in at 6’4 and 231 lbs. Reddick, 21 years old, checked in at 6’3 and 225 lbs. Both Waller and Reddick showcased their talents at the combine with Waller running a slightly faster 40 time. They both caught almost every pass that was thrown at them and looked to have stardom written all over their careers.
There was one thing that separated Reddick from Waller which lead to the decision of taking him at #6 overall and it was his determination of being the best the WR and teammate he could be. Reddick’s interview with ownership and coach Lefleur was phenomenal. The organization knew he had the right mindset and personality for their team.
Ownership and Coach Lefleur made many phone calls to family, coaches and teammates of Reddick’s and did not one of them say a negative thing about him. They praised his maturity at the age of 21.
The Packers have built the roster with guys who want to compete daily with one goal in mind, Championships. Reddick provided enough evidence to the Packers that he was the right choice at #6 overall.
The league views Waller as the better WR because of this speed but Reddick is out to prove the DML who the real #1 WR in the draft is. Reddick has a personal goal of winning Offensive Rookie of the Year for the Packers and form one of the best young WR duos in the game with Nolan Arnaud!
When asked about his upcoming rookie season, Reddick said “Get your popcorn ready fellas”.
